New players wanted – 2010 football season
The Burnaby Eagles are currently seeking players, new or experienced, for the 2010 BC footy season.
In 2009 the Burnaby Eagles went through the regular season undefeated, fielding a side with former AFL, WAFL, SANFL, VFL and VSFL players, as well as players brand new to the game, and members of the Canadian Australian Rules football team.
The Eagles also won the BC Footy Cup, Kelowna Cup and narrowly missed the perfect season, losing in the grand final by a mere 7 points.
Also new to the 2010 season will be the addition of the Bayhawks playing out of Burnaby. This addition will allow for greater opportunities and game time for all involved, and an exciting opportunity to play with the future of football in Canada as these players come through the Junior ranks and make the move to senior football.
So for anyone looking to have some fun, get fit, go on road trips and play some footy, get in touch with Dale Handley, coach of the Burnaby Eagles, via either, e-mail, cell (778 995 6069), or come down to pre-season training and get to know the team.
Australia Day – Mooses Down Under
The Burnaby Eagles Australian Football club is excited to celebrate Australia Day 2010!!
The festivities begin on Sunday January 24th at Moose’s Down Under for a Sunday session starting at 3pm.
On Tuesday January 26th, the Burnaby Eagles will again be Celebrating at Moose’s Down Under, along with the birthday of 2009’s Best and fairest winner, Berg’s, both days beginning in the early afternoon.
The week will end with the traditional Australia Day match on January 31st at UBC, with all players welcome to join in. The game will begin at 2:00pm, with players expected to be at the ground at 1:30pm. Following this game, all players and supporters will be heading to Mahoney’s bar at UBC to finish everything off.

Bergman wins Eagles’ 2009 Best and Fairest Award
Dane Bergman is the winner of the 2009 Burnaby Eagles Best and Fairest Award. Dane polled 133 votes to win the award. Runner-Up was Rowan Tilley.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada – Tara-Jean VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Show your support for your favourite dancer Tara-Jean Popowich in this season’s So You Think You Can Dance Canada!!!
Tara-Jean is in the Top 20 Dancers in Canada this season, and she needs your support! It’s up to us to vote for Tara-Jean to keep her in the competition and help her on her way to becoming Canada’s Favourite Dancer!
Since the age of 3 years old Tara-Jean has dedicated her life to dance and has the heart, talent and technique to go all the way. She’s the small town girl with big dreams and it’s up to us to make her dreams become a reality! No-one deserves it more than her and this is our chance to show her how amazing she really is! Tara-Jean has been living and teaching dance in Vancouver for the last 2 years, and is an avid fan of our beloved game of AFL!… Most of the guys (and girlfriends/wives) at the club have met Tara-Jean and can attest to how amazing she is! So lets support her as one of our own!
She needs our votes… so make your votes count every Tuesday night after the performance show, 8pm on CTV. Voting is free from landlines and you should vote as many times as you can! We only have the 2 hours immediately after the show to vote, so please vote as many times as possible in this time!!!
